About the Song

This song took me 6 years to write. It's written about a loved one who passed away. We were very close and it still devastates me when I think about him. May his soul rest in peace.

Lyrics

ALTHOUGH YOU’RE GONE
BY: Lyrics, Melody: ANDREA EMMES, Music, Additional Lyrics: RICHARD SMITH copyright 2008
THE 11TH HOUR PRAYER VERSE

Verse
There was a boy
So alone he felt.
Swept away from the pain that haunted him that night
How long did you know,
It was your time to go?
Wish I could save you and bring you back home...

Chorus
Although you're gone
My love will never leave you
Although you're gone

Verse
Can this be real
Tell me it's not true.
You've gone away
It tore my heart in two
Your memories remain and this pulls me through
All I have is the love I have for you

Chorus
Although you're gone
My love will never leave you
Although you're gone

Bridge
Find your rest in the Lord
Seek your peace in His sweet light
Don't be afraid anymore, no
It hurts so deep inside
Like a part of me has dies
I will always love you
Although you're gone.
Ooo, Although you're gone, gone, gone

Tag
Promise me, when the moon is bright
You'll smile down on me
Help me through the night, yeah
Touch my heart, touch my soul, please vill the voice
Just take control
Show me you're there
You're there

Although you're gone,
My love has never left you
Oh, Although you're gone.

"Amazing Grace" Lyrics

I know that this is a typical song for everyone to cover, but this is my mom’s favorite song and years and years ago, she made me promise that I would record this song for her. Well, I always meant to, but I never really could get to it or find a “karaoke” version that I liked. Well, again, I met with Kyle Rice and he started playing this guitar run and I just began to sing the words to “Amazing Grace” but with a completely different melody. In 15 minutes, Kyle and I worked out the melody. Then I gave it to my friend Chris Mendez, who’s a musical prodigy and he came up with a solid structure for the song and performed the drums and other instruments on the track. This song is dedicated to my mom.

About the song

Listen

Lyrics

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me....
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now, I see.

T'was Grace that taught...
my heart to fear.
And Grace, my fears relieved.
How precious did that Grace appear...
the hour I first believed?

Through many dangers,
toils and snares...
we have already come.

T'was Grace that brought us safe thus far...
and Grace will lead us home.

Lord has promised good to me...
His word my hope secures.

He will my shield and portion be...
as long as life endures.

When we've been here ten thousand years...
bright shining as the sun.

We've no less days to sing God's praise...
then when we've first begun.

"Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me....

I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now, I see.

Amazing Grace,
how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me....
