Andrea Emmes is an award-winning actor, voice-over artist, audiobook narrator, and author with 25+ years of professional performance experience across stage, screen, audio, and video games.
Born in Hollywood, Florida, raised between Tennessee and Rhode Island, and now based in Southern California, Andrea began her career in musical theatre before leaping—sometimes literally—into a wonderfully eclectic path that has included singing as Ariel at Walt Disney World, singing & dancing as a headliner in Las Vegas, working as a magician’s assistant, recording artist, designing video games for Disney Interactive, and producing the award-winning animated short film, Mila. She is proud of her Italian, Portuguese, Ukrainian, Ashkenazi Jewish, French, Greek, English, and German heritage. As a voice performer, Andrea has narrated 400+ audiobooks and is known for her dynamic character work, emotional range, snarky comedic timing, and love of quirky, nerdy, big-hearted, beautifully complicated characters. Her work has earned two Audie Award nominations, multiple SOVAS wins, Earphones Awards, and the title of Best Female Narrator from the Independent Audiobook Awards. After being diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome Type 1 and OCD/Excoriation Disorder in 2006, Andrea carved an empowered new path as a disabled performer, finding her way back to the mic with grit, heart, and a healthy dose of nerdy determination. When she’s not bringing stories to life from her professional home studio, Andrea can usually be found gaming, studying behavioral science for fun, writing, singing, or being lovingly catnapped by her snuggly kitty. With a Bachelor's degree in "Game Art & Design", Andrea was a associate game designer for Disney Interactive for 2 yrs! Andrea enjoys narrating all genres of audiobooks, especially YA, Middle Grade/Kids, Geeky/Comics, LitRPG, Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Comedy, Mystery, Romance, and NonFiction at her professional home studio in CA.
